Carol A. Sly

Carol Ann Sly (nee Schueller), age 73, passed away July 30, 2020 at her residence. She is survived by her sister, Susan (Edwin) Schueller- Meyer and many cousins. Included in her life was her dear friend, Carla (Kenneth) France; adopted grandchildren, Karrie Burke, Michelle Burke, Kayla Summers and great grandson Leo Burke. Born September 15, 1946 in Elizabeth City County, Virginia to the late Carl F. and Eleanor B. (nee Boyd) Schueller, Carol was an independent and strong individual who marched to the beat of her own drum. A graduate of Valley Forge High School and Cuyahoga Community College, she went on to study in France, worked in Amsterdam and traveled to many parts of the world. An entrepreneur, in her spare time she loved reading, writing poetry, cooking and listening to her favorite music. She may however be best remembered for her love of animals and how she rescued and raised many cats and a dog, Blue. Friends will be received Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the GREGORY P. GODORHAZY FUNERAL HOME, 4801 Memphis Ave., from 4 to 6 PM. Please observe all current COVID guidelines and masks are required. As a generous donor to St. Jude Children's Hospital, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and WVIZ/Ideastream, contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home to donate to the charity of your choice.
